CITYarts welcomes talented individuals to apply for internships that provide resources for arts training, real-world experience with projects and artists, school credits and stipends.We’re currently seeking individuals!

 

Office Administration/Non-Profit Management 
Work with the administrative staff of CITYarts to assist in the daily planning and organization of CITYarts, Inc. keeping in line with the mission. Tasks would include filing, database management, project planning, fundraising efforts, and general office management and organization.
Development/Fundraising  
Responsible for researching corporate and foundation funding sources. They will help prepare, edit, and record grant applications and supporting materials. They will assist in planning fundraising events. The Development intern will also be in charge of some filling, fact checking, and database entry.
Public Relations/Marketing  
Help organize and mobilize CITYarts’ mailing list, update and expand press contact lists, prepare press releases, create promotional materials, and research possibilities for media coverage. They will also look for suitable markets to sell products and services. Interns will also be responsible for maintaining and updating CITYarts’ social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr), developing a CITYarts online presence and voice, and developing an online strategy.
On-Site Project/Artist Assistant
Will work on-site at CITYarts’ public art projects. They are expected to coordinate volunteers, distribute fliers, and contact the community board and after school groups. They will assist the artist with painting murals, or restoring mosaics. They will assist with set-up and clean-up on site each day, as well as any project planning elements when needed.
Photography/Video  
Document CITYarts murals, workshops, and current projects through photography and videography. They will develop and organize an archive system for both current and previous photos. Interns will update the CITYarts website and social media outlets periodically with current photos and best of project images. Interns may also be involved in creation and printing of creative material, and photo cataloging. They will also do preliminary work on map, book brochure, and various advertising and PR projects. For this internship, experience with the Adobe suite is preferred.
Bookkeeping
Responsible for assisting part-time Bookkeeper and Assistant to the Director with daily accounting, writing checks, bank reconciliation, balancing checkbook, bank report analysis, preparing for tax return and other general bookkeeping duties as they arise.
Web/Graphic Design
Work with the content, format, and style of the CITYarts website. They will be expected to manage website updates and maintenance using mostly HTML and CSS. In addition to maintaining the website, they will also be involved in designing creative material using the Adobe suite, both for the website and for printing. Your tasks may also include PR and advertising projects. For this internship, experience with web design and programming is preferred.
Pieces for Peace
CITYarts’ Young Minds Build Bridges program introduced the Pieces for Peace with Youth from Around the World Project after 9/11 to build bridges of cultural understanding by connecting youth from around the world with each other and with society as a whole through the creation of art. Pieces for Peace interns will assist in the program goal of reaching all 193 countries represented by the UN through research and outreach to international contacts. They are expecting to prepare and organize workshop materials and artworks created. Interns are also responsible for preparing and editing program information in the forms of project proposals and press packets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS – All interns should be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and willing to learn Access. We are looking for interns who are motivated, flexible, committed, and have an interest in the arts and/or the non-profit industry. A positive, enthusiastic attitude is a must.

SCHEDULE –Interns design their own schedule with CITYarts’ staff. Average of 15-20 hours a week.
