Always in Bloom
(Manhattan - 2017)

The Always in Bloom project will engage students that come from all five boroughs of New York City to learn on the Upper West Side. The Urban Assembly School for Green Careers (UAGC) reached out to CITYarts searching for ways to revitalize their “Living Laboratory,”  through the creation of public art. This “Living Laboratory” is a garden that encourages a hands-on curriculum and is a place where students can practice sustainability without being in a traditional, conducive learning setting. While in the garden, they learn how to harvest, maintaining their own urban organic farm. They also learn the importance of buying and selling locally within their community, as well as global issues including ecological habitat to keep their garden thriving and pollinated. With CITYarts they will also explore what colors will help the garden thrive.
