(Manhattan - 2017)
The Growing Together project is the third part of the Empowering Each Other for a Better Future initiative. Over the past three years, has engaged approximately, 200 LACJ students, 200 Hamilton Grange middle school students, and 75 students from the City College of New York. Throughout the project, the middle, high school and college students formed empowering and beneficial cross-peer relationships in which college students mentor high schools students and high school students mentor middle school students. This unique mentoring model has enabled the students at LACJ to become more comfortable and inspired to be creative; established a sense of belonging in their respective communities; and developed the tools and skills to be successful, now and in the future.
