Thinking Beyond the Stars
(Manhattan - 2017)

Recent Project

The Thinking Beyond the Stars project is the third part of the Empowering Each Other for a Better Future initiative. Over the past two years, has engaged approximately 200 Hamilton Grange middle school students, 200 LACJ at the Martin Luther King Educational Complex students, and 75 students from the City College of New York. Throughout the project, the middle, high school and college students formed empowering and beneficial cross-peer relationships in which college students mentor high schools students and high school students mentor middle school students. This unique mentoring model of art workshops, field trips, and the creation of murals, has enabled the students to create safe, welcoming and inspiring spaces; establish a sense of belonging in their respective communities; and develop the tools and skills to be successful, now and in the future.
