The Doors of Hope 2023

Global HeART Warming

CITYarts collaborated with Murray Hill Academy for the 4th year to create a new mural as part of the Global HeARTwarming program, The Doors of Hope asked students to consider how the speed of climate change is affecting their world. Students were prompted with the question of what they can do to help slow the speed of climate change.

The Doors of Hope paired students with CITYarts artist, Bernard Wiggins, who led the youth through workshops and the mural creation process. Bernard himself was 12 years old when he worked on his first mural with CITYarts. The mural consists of four doors that the students can walk through proudly. With the mural placed at such an active spot, it will give the participants a sense of pride every time they walk through these doors. The Doors of Hope project is a part of CITYarts’ Global HeART Warming program, which celebrates nature and raises environmental awareness by inspiring youth to voice their ideas about reducing the speed of climate change and living sustainably.
