The duo’s temporary projects, such as The Gates in Central Park and Wrapped Reichstag intervened in public spaces. “We borrow space and create gentle disturbances for a few days,” Christo once said. “We inherit everything that is inherent in the space to become part of the work of art. Christo was best known for monumental collaborations with his partner Jeanne-Claude. All our projects are like fabulous expeditions.” Since Jeanne-Claude’s passing, Christo continued to work on The Mastaba, Project for Abu Dhabi as well as realized Big Air Package, Gasometer, Oberhausen, 2010-13; The Floating Piers, Lake Iseo, Italy, 2014-16 and The London Mastaba, Serpentine Lake, Hyde Park, 2014-16.
