Alec Soth 30 for 30, celebrating CITYarts’ 30th Anniversary
Alec Soth lives and works in Minneapolis, US. He has published over 25 books, and has had over 50 solo exhibitions at international museums like Deichtorhallen Hamburg, DE; Detroit Institute of Arts, US; Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki, FI; Fotomuseum Winterthur, CH; Jeu de Paume, Paris, FR; National Science and Media Museum, Bradford, UK; and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, US.
Soth’s works of art are in the collections of, amongst numerous other institutions, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, US; Brooklyn Museum, US; Israel Museum, Jerusalem, IL; J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, US; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, US; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, US; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, US; Museum of Modern Art, New York, US; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, US; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, US; and Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, US. Soth is a member of Magnum Photos, and was the recipient of a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship.

Forever Tall, 2001

The Forever Tall mural was created by professional artists in collaboration with international children in New York City shortly after 9/11 and is featured in the commemorative book, A Place of Remembrance, published by the 9/11 Foundation in conjunction with National Geographic. The building with the mural has since been taken down but this commemorative photo keeps the project alive.
Bunny Burson received a BA in French from Tulane University, which included a year at the Sorbonne in Paris. She then studied at the Memphis College of Art where she earned a BFA in printmaking. Burson earned her MFA in printmaking and drawing from Washington University in St. Louis. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in St. Louis, New York, Memphis, Nashville, Colorado and Leipzig, Germany. Recent awards include an artist residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and the Washington University School of Art Award for Distinction. She is represented by Bruno David Gallery in St. Louis.
Burson serves on the National Councils of the Washington University Sam Fox School of Art and the Gephardt Institute for Public Service, as well as the board of trustees of Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, Colorado and the advisory council of Dieu Donné in New York.
