Community Identity

CITYarts is producing and creating a mural on the City College of NY Steinman Hall overlooking Hamilton Grange National Park and the Alexander Hamilton Home. The project will engage local Harlem youth in workshops as they learn about the history of their neighborhood and Alexander Hamilton, while also developing technical art skills. In depicting a historically accurate mural, of the local ecological landscape of the late 1700’s, the HRV Mural Project is meant to benefit the historic community of Hamilton Heights, NYC and the Global community. The project will empower our local youth to bring art in their lives, inspire CCNY students and Hamilton Grange visitors, it will create interpretive opportunities, including, education around Alexander Hamilton, his country estate, and the enduring but ever changing cultural and ecological landscapes of Hamilton Heights.
