Global HeART Warming

CITYarts produced a third mural in collaboration with the Middle School for Art & Philosophy. As part of CITYarts’ Global HeART Warming program, Spread to the Community asked the students why is there such a high speed in climate change. CITYarts professional artist, Robin Alcantara, led students through workshops to develop ideas for their mural and develop technical skills.

Spread to the Community included social studies teachers who taught the students about the speed of climate change concurrently with the art workshops. This project received generous support from District 41 Council Member Darlene Mealy’s Office and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. CITYarts invited NYPD officers to workshops, so the students and officers can get to know each other in a safe and creative environment.
