Our Voices
The outdoor mural ‘Our Voices’ will convey their ideas and provide them with the opportunity to develop aspirations for their futures and a sense of responsibility for their schools and communities. The creative process will include hands-on experience with art-making as a means through which they can learn to think more broadly about their place and their roles in community life and as potential leaders.
CITYarts will also work hand in hand throughout the project with NYPD officers from nearby Precincts who are committed to community outreach. We are confident this will foster friendships among the NYPD, youth, and the community that will enable the development of a deeper and more meaningful understanding of one another.
