Development Internship:

Organization Description and Position Description:
CITYarts engages youth and professional artists in the creation of public art, including murals and mosaic. Through this creative process, CITYarts empowers, educates, and connects youth and children locally and around the world to become active participants in realizing their potential and transforming communities.

The Development interns, reporting to the Development Coordinator, will provide essential assistance in raising funds to cover CITYarts’ entire budget, including programs and general operating costs.  Development interns will be responsible for researching foundation and corporate funding sources.  They will help prepare, edit, and record grant applications and supporting materials.  They will also assist in planning fundraising events and manage filing and database entry.

Requirements:
· Interested in non-profit fundraising for the arts
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
· Experienced with online research
· Experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Energetic and personable

Responsibilities:
· Researching like-minded organizational funding
· Researching local government representatives
· Researching developers in neighborhoods surrounding murals
· Drafting grant applications and compiling attachments
· Updating the grant calendar to reflect new applications
· Calling and emailing commercial stores for donations
· Recording donations in physical binders and digital spreadsheets
· Organizing physical files

QUALIFICATIONS – All interns should be familiar with Google Suite programs and willing to learn Trello. We are looking for interns who are motivated, flexible, committed, and have an interest in the arts and/or the non-profit industry. A positive, enthusiastic attitude is a must.

SCHEDULE – Interns design their own schedule with CITYarts’ staff. Average of 15-20 hours a week. Business hours are Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm.

BENEFITS – A CITYarts’ internship offers a comprehensive introduction to the non-profit art world and can provide meaningful professional development to a committed and motivated individual. School credit is available and interns eligible to work in the US will receive a stipend of $15 per 8 hours of work.
